    1.  i love getting mail.  you just never know what is going to come!  and then there are things to look forward to, like netflix and magazines!  love it!  getting the mail is one of the markers of my day.  it's a bummer when we don't get any mail.  even if i am just going to recycle it all away,  it's fun to see what 's in there.  our previous home owner got about a billion catalogs and we still get some of those so its interesting to see what she got and just wonder who she was planning to buy for.  anyways....i'll be sad when the mail is cut to 5 days but what can you do?

    2. home improvement is not as easy as it looks like on commercials.  yes i know, it's a COMMERCIAL but dang. how hard should it have been to have replaced our towel racks and toilet paper holder?  a little painting and drilling.  OH WAIT.  except for when your previous owner GLUES the towel racks to the wall.  then the dry wall comes off and you have to prime, use putty, sand, and then prime again before painting.  OMG!  DON'T GLUE TOWEL RACKS TO THE WALL FUTURE HOME OWNERS OF AMERICA!

    3. laundry.  it never ends!  'nuff said.

    4. elizabeth schultz won the springfield seat on the school board.  i wonder how long until she opens Clifton again.

    5. our computer monitor driver keeps quitting.  ever since we got windows 7.  all kinds of fun!

    6. i need netflix recommendations.  STAT.

    That is all.

  • 6

since it's the beginning of the school year, that means one thing: colds, coughs and general other yuckiness

over the years i've figured out that i sneeze in 6s.  i used to be two groups of three and very briefly i was doing four then two and lately its five, about 30 seconds and then one more.

does anyone else find this odd?  does anyone else sneeze in groups?

  • update

so today would be day 18 if the great 30 day wait for geico to give me money to replace my car.  it's just not the easiest wait but i think i'm doing pretty well.  i haven't heard back from the auto detective but i guess that's cuz he's soo busy looking "hard" at me.  (well actually he did answer a call i had but no update about the car....)i have a VW beetle to drive around for another 12 days....it's a beast.  it has a 15 gallon tank and gets like 20-21 miles to the gallon.  i mean, who designs a car to get 20 MPG that is not an SUV?  And it's a 2010?????  Fortunately, its 12 more days and we get 10 cents off a gallon for buying groceries.  it's a beast.

so what else....i'm in my last real "class" for grad school--research.  i even have to go to Mason and everything.  i've bought a parking pass AND a book!  it's going to be a sprint....May 24th to June 23rd.  Just gotta suck it up and do it.  Also, we are having a final.  which I think is silly bc it's a multiple guess final--i'm in grad school and you want me to have a multiple guess test?  i mean for reals?  oh well.  such is life.

i got some good stuff for my birthday...plants, new fitflops, and a nook color.  and i had a nice, relaxing day too.

so...the last day for kids is june 21 and teachers 22 and for me...june 28!  then i start over with ESY on July 5!  So my real vacation starts July 25.....

and i've gotten another korean marketing...because my maiden name is another spelling of a common korean last name.  annoying!  here is a picture....sorry it's sideways

and finally, if you're ever in the tampa airport ladies.... don't put your babies in the purse holder.

    that is all.

  • what a week

so in addition to being the first week back from spring break.....

    1. i attended an IEP and talked to parents and got red.

    2. i crashed a self check out machine and it had to be rebooted.  the cashier in charge then proceeded to tell me i'm taking up too much time at said check stand and i shouldn't use so many coupons.  i didn't realize how rich those cashiers must be to recommend not using coupons.  (I wasn't going all extreme couponing...I had about 10 but 4 were from their own add and it was just a perfect storm...it ended up being 17$!!!!!)  I did have to say something to the manager because that is just uncool.

    3. i went to a new doctor's office.  they were very nice and the doc seemed very intersted in helping me.

    4. i had my next to last meeting for this class for grad school.  may 11th and then i'm down to 2 classes!  the light in the tunnel is quite bright!

    5. i saw my podiatrist.  he's a great guy.

    6. team reat which is always nice to spend time together!

    7.  apparently my dentist is leaving the DMO.  :(  I'm not that tied to his office but i knew it and trying to get in to new places....yuck.  and i was supposed to have an appt in june.  just got the letter today and apparently they left effective april 1.  yay health care!

    8. royal wedding

    a) i'm so glad that wasn't my weddin that the whole world was watching and will be able to buy on DVD.

    b) the dress was not my style but not an ugly dress

    c) i can't believe she did her own make up...even with taking lessons. i mean that's skillz.

    d) i kinda thought the queen would wear something a bit more grand/royal/dressy.........?

    e) love the bridesmaid dress.  gorgeous shape.

    f) did not like the bouquet.  meh.  just not my style.

    so that's my story......
